  • The following appeared on 3 April 1951 in the Buffalo Courier-Express: Howard J. Lommer, 55, of 451 Mt. Vernon Rd., Snyder, a foreman in the electrical maintenance department of the National Aniline Division of the Allied Chemical & Dye Corp., died Sunday at Buffalo General Hospital. He had been ill five months.
         Mr. Lommer was born in Buffalo, August 3, 1895, and attended school here. He lived at 82 Schauf Ave. for 20 years and moved to Snyder last January.
         He had been employed by National Aniline for 30 years. Mr. Lommer was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Atonement on Northland Ave.
         Surviving are his wife, the former Helen M. Dresing; a son, Harold G. Lommer; a daughter, Mrs. William Pippine; a sister, Mrs. Ira Maloney, and four grandchildren.
         Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday at the Leo Sauer New Funeral Home, 1933 Kensington Ave. The Rev. Edward G. Goetz, pastor of the Church of the Atonement, will officiate. Burial will be in Buffalo Cemetery, Pine Hill.
  • The following appeared in The Hamburg Sun: Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the W. L. Froehley Funeral Home in Lake St. for Mrs. Helen M. Lommer of Chapman Pkwy, who died Dec. 28 in her 71st year. The Rev. Ronald E. Meyer, pastor of All Saints Lutheran Church, officiated with burial in Buffalo Cemetery.
         Mrs. Lommer was the wife of the late Howard J. Lommer. She leaves a daughter, Mrs. William E. Pippine, with whom she made her home, a son, Howard G. Lommer, four grandchildren, and a sister, Charlotte M. Dresing.

         The wife of the late William E. Pippine and Eugene A. Gerhardt, she is survived by sons, William R. (Eileen) and Howard (Elizabeth) Pippine; stepson, Larry (Lorraine) Gerhard; stepdaughter, Sheila (James) Ryan; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
         Mrs. Gerhardt was a former secretary for Trinity Episcopal Church, and was a member of St. Amelia's Senior Citizens and General Motors Retirees.
         Memorials may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church in Hamburg or St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church, Tonawanda.
